Privacy policy

The site processes video without receiving it. This explains what that means and what little data is collected.

The short version

Your video files are never uploaded, never stored and never seen by us. Conversion happens inside your browser using WebAssembly. There is no server that receives your media, which means there is nothing for us to keep, leak or hand over.

What we do collect

We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and understand which converters people use. This records the page visited, the referring site, an approximate country, and the browser and device type. It does not identify you and is not used to build a profile.

If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply to it.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own. If advertising is displayed, the ad provider may set cookies subject to its own policy, and where required by law you will be asked for consent first.

Third parties

Two external resources load when you use a converter: the ffmpeg WebAssembly engine, delivered from a public code CDN, and a web font. Those providers can see your IP address, as any server does when your browser requests a file. They do not receive your video.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you and ask for it to be deleted, by writing to contact@webm-mp4.com. Because we collect so little, the answer is usually that we hold nothing beyond aggregate counts.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. Last updated 2026-08-31.
